I recently purchased a home security system from APX Alarm Company and felt compelled to write a review. Many people may not have heard of APX as they don’t utilize traditional marketing avenues like television, radio and print. Instead they use old school door to door salespeople to sell their goods and services. The person who I met was a young man in his twenties that was extremely polite and friendly.

I wasn’t really interested in an alarm system at the time, at least I hadn’t thought about it lately, but the sales packages they were peddling were convincing. I bought my security system for nothing and only had to pay the monthly monitoring fee of $30.

Wow! Sounds like you got a great deal! How have you liked it so far? Hopefully you haven’t had to use it yet, but what all comes in it? I have been looking into an alarm recently, even the free ones. What do you like the most? What do you like the least? Whats the customer service like? I did a quick search online and it seemed, in others opinions, they are lacking in that area. What have you found? Is that $30 before or after taxes, permits, and insurance discounts. Sorry for all of the questions, hope you have a second to respond to them…

So, what’s the review? Is the APX product’s value worth the cost?

I’m curious because I just had an APX salesman around and I’m a little dubious about the 44.95 monthly fee X 60 months, in spite of the “free equipment”.

APX is Bad News in Kansas
I entered into a mutual agreement that I would be business with APX in May of 2009. I tried to end our relationship in Augusat and re4ceived no bill, but later a bill arrived in September. I since have learned that APX falsely represented itself during the agreement. I consider this agreement a misrepresentation by APX from the start. I find that many other’s have experienced the same problem with your company.

    1. At the date of my agreement with APX, there was no license to do business in Kansas.

    2. A investigation found APX was not authorized to sell or install Honeywell equipment in Kansas.

    3. Because we work with an alarm company at our business we knew that the City of Wichita requires all alarm companies to be licensed and tied into the Police. During the interview we specifically ask if APX was set up that way. We were told yes.
To this date, we find no record of license with the city of Wichita.

To date no service relationship with the Wichita City police has been established.

The unit has not performed and no services from APX have been provided
(except my calls to customer services to end our relationship.)
The unit has been disconnected and is available for APX to pick up.
